Ne Dans la Rue Graffiti

Today we switch gears and completely change directions. Instead of conventional art boards, today’s art is done pretty much everywhere. I’ve always seen graffiti as a more in your face art form, while any art form can be provocative and shocking, graffiti goes even further to accomplish this effect by blatantly putting out there in front of your face with a huge “hey look at me!” plastered all over its face. And while I and many won’t understand a word of Ne Dans La Rue’s site , we can truly appreciate its provocative and still yet so stylish art all over the urban scene. And while graffiti is today’s inspiration, I’m definitely not telling you to go out and do some graffiti on your own, unless that’s your thing and don’t mind the rush of getting into a squabble with the authorities, in that case there wouldn’t be anything to stop you. So today when you go out, see if you can spot any graffiti in your area, if you do then appreciate it (even if its a gang name tagged on a wall) for whichever artist did that had some guts to choose such a controversial art board.

The Picture of Everything

Today I came across a very interesting work of art. Its hard to say if this is just one piece, or a multitude of pieces of art. After visiting the Howard Hallis’ site, one must say that he is a very ambitious person, to say the least. It seems the art is destined to be a picture of all things and as impossible as this may seem, it becomes a bit more plausible as you see the incredible detail and amount of icons seen here. Exploring closely the art you can see examples of everything, including the A-team van, the Back to the Future Delorean, Speed Racer, the Scooby-Doo Mystery Wagon and more…and that its just in the Vehicles section of the project. I invite you to take a peek at the website and find all the references that you can, you’ll surely feel a sense of nostalgia. Just one word of warning, watch your time as the work is so massive that it is easy so get lost and spend awhile browsing the work.

Byroglyphics

Today we have byroglyphics, an amazing style different from yesterday’s. Really, this style is truely unique, one I haven’t seen yet. Elements such as brush strokes, curving lines and amazing sketches combine to give this art a very unique style. It looks very hand-drawn while also having digital artistic components that really allow the sketch to jump out and set it apart from the rest. Take “Polaskia” as seen below, the sketched face is the only hand-drawn element but we still see the hair and body even though the hair is made up of sharp strokes, and the body looks like hard brush strokes. A somewhat classical style with a modern and grungy update, truly special and amazing. I recommend visiting the link (here) and checking out the rest of the works to truly appreciate the rest of the byroglyphics has to offer.

Kerem Beyit

One of the biggest inspirational artists I’ve seen in awhile is Kerem Beyit. This artist has a special spot in deviantart since 2004 and now at 28 years old this Turkish artist has progressed amazingly. His style of art is simply beautiful, I appreciate the modern grungy style with allusions to other cultural icons, such as the werewolf and the farmer and his wife in some works. While any fantasy nerd will definitely appreciate his overall style, with dragons and medieval characters in the good majority of work. His choice of color is astounding, for example “Protoype” (below) has a soft cool tone to it while also contrasted with the strong reds. His talent is continuously improving and it is seen when browsing his gallery and as far as digital painting art goes, you can count him in the board of executive directors.
